The girls and I visited the Annapolis National Cemetary today and it was a wonderful experience. There were headstones dating as far back as the Civil War.
Thank you to the volunteers who placed flags at each headstone, and thank you to all who serve.

Inspirations and a moth
I've been
I found this little guy on my morning rounds and think he is so beautiful. So instead of working this afternoon as I should be I'm indulging in a little watercolor. Who knows....maybe "moth" will become the next fabric.

We're going "Down Under"
I am thrilled
to announce that Victoria Larson Textiles is now represented at the Emily Ziz Style
Studios in Sydney, Australia! Although I don't get to go to Sydney (yet) at least my fabrics get to live in one of my favorite places on the globe.
Emily Ziz Style Studio is a supplier of fabrics, wallpapers, rugs, lighting, artworks and boutique decorative accessories to the interior design trade. The collections originate from Australia, South Africa, UK, France....and now the USA. I am the first US deisgner to be represented!
Emily Ziz focuses on boutique, statement products that create a point of
interest in the environments in which they are installed making it a great fit
for my large scale, bold designs. Owner, Emma Levitt, has curated an eclectic
mix of independently designed textiles and accessories that allow designers the
tools to create truly unique interiors.

Happy May Day!
My daughters and I have a May Day tradition of making little baskets and sneaking them onto our friends doors. I love the celebration of spring and flowers and warm days to come. The girls love the 'ring and run' aspect.
We've done paper cones filled with candy and mason jars filled with flowers but I have to say that I think this year's basket is one of my favorites. Not only do I think the tissue paper flowers are sweet but I love that the girls schemed it up themselves. I mentioned at dinner last night that I've been so busy that I hadn't planned on baskets for the first time in about 10 years. The girls disappeared into their room and began a frenzy of flower and cone making. Yey! The tradition lives!
Any traditions in your town on May Day?
Here's to the coming season...Happy May Day!
